Chhattisgarh Congress MLA asks everyone to unite for ‘Hindu Rashtra’, party distances itself from the remark

Chhattisgarh Congress leader and MLA Aneeta Sharma on Friday urged everyone to promote the idea of building India as a Hindu Rashtra. She made the appeal while addressing a rally organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of  Puri Shankaracharya, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati

Chattisgarh MLA calls for unity to build Hindu Rashtra

Chhattisgarh Congress leader has called for unity to build a Hindu Rashtra while addressing a gathering in Dharsiwa constituency in Chhattisgarh during an event organised to mark the birth anniversary of Puri Shankaracharya, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.“We all..wherever we are, must take a pledge to build Hindu Rashtra. We should speak for the Hindus, which can only be possible when Hindus stand together,” said the Congress MLA.

Congress calls it ‘personal opinion’ 

The Congress party has distanced itself from the statement, deeming it a ‘personal opinion’ rather than party’s vision. However, the MLA later issued a clarification saying her remarks were taken out of context. 

“People of different religions live in the country with harmony and we don’t want to break anyone. Our leader (Rahul Gandhi) takes out Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite people because few people belonging to BJP are engaged in creating division in the society,” she told news agency ANI.
