Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has requested the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to make drone registration mandatory on the border area. The Chief Minister said that unmanned aerial vehicle are being used for cross border terrorism. I request you to look into the matter and do not allow any drone to pass from the border area without registration.
‘Drone Registration should be made mandatory on the border area‘
Punjab CM was participating in a virtual meet chaired by the Home Minister on the Drug Trafficking and National Security. The CM also urged to install anti-drone technology or jammers on the border area to keep an eye on the drone activity or prevent cross border terrorism. This will also help in checking the supply of drugs and weapons in the border area. The CM said that around 491 drone sighting have been come to the notice since 2019, and 51 drones have been recovered.
‘Punjab is the first state to curb Drug Menace‘
Bhagwant Mann also said that his state is the first state to build a special task force to curb drug trafficking, and keep an eye on the supply of drugs coming from the border area. He said that Punjab Government has adopted a three pronged strategy of Enforcement against the drug menace. Mann also said that so far 1000 kg of Heroin, 56 hand grenades, 126 pistols and 11 AK -47 rifles have been recovered from the drone based deliveries till May 16 this year.
