CM Arvind Kejriwal: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet with his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Tuesday afternoon as part of a nationwide tour to rally support for his fight against the Center’s ordinance on control of services in Delhi, an official said.
Punjab Chief Minister Joins Kejriwal in Challenging Central Ordinance
Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, will accompany Kejriwal as they take on the Central ordinance creating the National Capital Civil Service Authority, which essentially nullifies a ruling by the Supreme Court last week giving control of all services to the elected government in Delhi aside from those pertaining to law enforcement, public safety, and land. The transfer of IAS and DANICS cadre officers, as well as any disciplinary actions taken against them, will be handled by the National Capital Civil Service Authority, where the chief minister will serve as the exclusive representative of the elected government.

AAP Seeks Support from Non-BJP Parties to Safeguard Democracy and Constitution
The AAP has already requested the backing of all non-BJP parties on the matter, claiming that the opposition parties are facing a “time for ‘agni pariksha’ (trial by fire)” and that they must band together to safeguard the nation’s democracy and Constitution. Prior to meeting the Trinamool Congress chairman at the state secretariat in Nabanna, Kejriwal and Mann, who are arriving at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, will have a brief discussion with the AAP’s West Bengal leadership. Before the chief ministers’ meeting, the Bengal chapter of AAP will also brief the media. “They (top ministers) have a private meeting planned at the state secretariat. A top TMC leader suggested that they would also talk about potential general election strategy.

Kejriwal Seeks Support from Nitish Kumar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar
Kejriwal previously met with Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, to discuss the ordinance problem, and he has pledged his complete support for the AAP in their dispute with the Centre over the matter. On Wednesday in Mumbai, the head of AAP is also expected to meet with Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar, leader of the NCP. Parliament must ratify the core ordinance within six months. For which the Centre must introduce a bill in order for it to be approved by both Houses of Parliament.
