Wednesday’s Budget session in Parliament was marred by controversy when Mallikarajun Kharge, the president of the Indian National Congress, was photographed with a pricey Louis Vuitton scarf.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala, took dig of the Congress Chief for donning an expensive scarf in the Parliament that cost more than Rs 50,000, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore a special jacket made from recycled plastic bottles.

Taking to Twitter Shehzad Poonawala said,
“Taste Apna Apna, Message Apna Apna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sends a ‘green message’ with his sustainable fashion blue jacket; enlisting Jan Bhagidari for the cause of sustainable growth and the environment. Meanwhile, Kharge ji sports an expensive LV scarf.”

Union Minister Piyush Goyal brought up the Congress leader’s luxury scarf during the discussion and questioned him about how he was able to afford a Louis Vuitton accessory.
