Congress news: The Congress Party has urged for opposition unity in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections by calling for the identification, mobilisation, and alignment of like-minded secular parties. This statement was made during a brainstorming conclave held in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

The party emphasised that the formation of a third front would only work to the advantage of the BJP in the upcoming election. It further stated that the unity of secular and socialist forces would be the defining characteristic of the future of the Congress Party. To achieve this goal, the Congress Party has called for the inclusion of secular regional forces that align with their ideology. The resolution also highlighted the need for a united opposition to take on the NDA on common ideological grounds.

During the 85th plenary session of the Congress on Friday, the Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge, stated that the party was seeking to form an alliance with similar political parties for the Lok Sabha polls. Kharge emphasized that the Congress is the only political party in the country capable of providing decisive and effective leadership in the current challenging circumstances. The Congress Party has reiterated its commitment to opposing the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections by calling for opposition unity and mobilisation of like-minded secular parties. It stressed the importance of a united front to challenge the NDA on ideological grounds, rather than the formation of a third front that could potentially benefit the BJP.
