Symptoms of Omicron coronavirus strain BF.7
- Upper respiratory infections, which result in congestion in the upper chest and close to the throat, are the main side effects of BF.7. Other typical symptoms include a cough, runny nose, fever, and sore throat.
- Vomiting and diarrhoea are two stomach-related symptoms that some people may experience. Doctors advocate getting tested very away since doing so helps ensure that decisions about isolation and recovery medications are made early, which can help stem the spread of the illness.
- For some days now, India has been reporting less than 200 cases per day. Regarding BF.7, all four confirmed cases to date have occurred between July and October, with three cases occurring in Gujarat and one in Odisha. The patients were isolated, treated, and have since recovered.
- The severity of the sickness is not worse in the case of BF.7, but the real concern is the sheer number of individuals it can infect because the transmission is considerably quicker, making early detection and isolation even more crucial. The recovery rate is high, but if the spread is greater than that of earlier varieties, mortality may also be high in absolute terms.
- Since the coronavirus was discovered for the first time in 2019, China is currently dealing with what may be the world’s worst Covid outbreak. Although there is a lack of official data from China, news agency Bloomberg quoted a study to claim that it may be tracking 5,000 fatalities and 10 lakh cases per day.
- In addition to these nations, BF.7 has also been found in the US, UK, Belgium, Germany, France, and Denmark. However, it is not necessarily acting in a harmful manner in nations except China.
- For instance, the UK, which had previously rated BF.7 as one of the most worrisome types, has since revised its assessment of how deadly it is.
- According to sources, the widespread infection in China may be attributable to the population’s poor level of immunity from prior infections and maybe immunisation as well.
- States have been instructed to advise masks and social seclusion, particularly in the lead-up to Christmas and New Year’s. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting with ministers and top officials to assess the Covid situation in India. Mandatory limitations have not yet returned.
- 2% of all foreign arrivals are now being randomly tested by the Indian government. Already, flights to and from China are prohibited.
