India reports 51,667 Covid cases, 1,329 deaths in last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. With this the country’s total caseload has risen to over 3,01,34,445, while the death toll nears the 4-lakh mark. Showing clear sign of decline, the active caseload has dropped to 6.12 lakh.
Currently, Delta Plus variant of novel coronavirus is wreaking havoc across the country. At least seven cases of the new Delta Plus variant of Coronavirus have been confirmed in Madhya Pradesh, two of the patients have died. Doctors said they had not received any vaccination. Meanwhile, Mahrashtra also reported first death linked to the Delta Plus variant on Friday.
According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 64,527 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,91,28,267 till date.
A total of 30,79,48,744 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 60,73,912 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.
As many as 39,95,68,448 samples have been tested up to June 24 for Covid-19. Of these 17,35,781 samples were tested on Thursday: ICMR
Meanwhile, the overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 179.9 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 3.89 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
