CRPF, ITBP: Sujoy Lal Thaosen and Anish Dayal Singh, senior members of the Indian Police Service (IPS), have been appointed as the new directors general of the CRPF and ITBP, respectively, according to a government order issued on Saturday.

The director general (DG) of the border patrol agency Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Thaosen, a Madhya Pradesh cadre officer from the 1988 batch, also has additional responsibility for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
Due to the retirement of IPS officer Kuldiep Singh (1986-batch), the position of DG for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) became vacant on Friday.
Anish Dayal Singh, a member of the Manipur cadre and a 1988 batch officer, is currently a special director for the Intelligence Bureau.

Singh will reach retirement age in December 2024, whilst Thaosen is set to retire in November of this year.
Following approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which is presided over by the prime minister, the Personnel Ministry issued the order for their appointment.
