Cyclonic storm: By December 8 am, the low-pressure region developed over the south Andaman Sea is expected to build into a cyclonic storm and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal around northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coast.
A low-pressure region formed over the south Andaman Sea at 5:30 a.m. on Monday as a result of the cyclonic circulation over the south Andaman Sea and the neighbouring equatorial Indian Ocean-Strait of Malacca.
The associated cyclonic circulation reaches up to the mid-troposphere. It is expected to travel west-northwestward and consolidate as a depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal by the evening of December 6th.
