The Bihar flood is surging like a never-ending bay. The flood situations have inundated various parts of Bihar and the heavy rainfall destroyed the lifelines of the residents. The copious rain in the areas of Bihar and Nepal is like a dark trail for the North-Eastern state. Almost 10 districts are affected and more than 10 lakh people are mislocated. People are vacating their homes and heading to a safer place to live and provide for their families.
The Havoc situation over there forced the central government to pitch the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the rescue operations. Indian Air Force crafts are being used to air-drop food materials in severe flood-affected areas. Darbhanga is one of the most affected districts in the state, the flood didn’t spare even those who are part of the maintenance of law and order in the district.
The Kushewarsthan Police Station in Darbhanga district was flown away following the incessant rainfall in the area. The police in that area are forced to patrol on boats and that too in rural areas is a drowning dream for the authorities.
In recent media reports, ASI Mithlesh Singh, who was the part of that Kushewaesthan Police Station said the cops are not treated well by the state government they are providing boats to them to patrol in the city.
“We have kept everything on the table to prevent them from getting submerged. We go for patrolling in rural areas using boats. We have not received boats from the government yet, we are doing this on our own expense. There is no electricity for the last 3-4 days,” ASI Mithlesh was quoted as saying by Times Now.
A local in the district quoted as saying by ANI: “The whole area over here is submerged and the flow of the water is so fast that the speed is constantly increasing.”
A total of 22 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in the rescue operation. The rising water levels are the worrying factor for the locals and the administration as well. As of now, the state is battling with both coronavirus and the flood, the situations are getting worst than ever.
