Abdullah Abdullah is the chief negotiator in the Afghan peace talks with the Taliban, arrived in New Delhi. During his visit, he will hold meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Abdullah wrote in a tweet, ”reaching New Delhi as part of his official visit. During my stay here, I will meet the Indian leadership and exchange views on the Afghan peace process and bilateral relations”.
Notably, Abdullah has come India on the invitation of the Government of India. Before visting India, Abdullah said that ”India is a strategic partner of Afghanistan and has consistently supported our government and people. Historical relations with India are very important to us” .
While meeting to National Security Adviser Doval, Abdullah thanked the Government of India for the invitation. Abdullah said that he spoke extensively about the Afghan peace process in Doh.
Abdullah added that ” afghan is in favor of an independent, democratic, sovereign and peaceful Afghanistan, where no terrorist can remain active. I thanked India for its invitation, continued support for Afghanistan and its constructive role in peace efforts”.
Presently, the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban are continuously talking to end the war.
While India has also wished this conversation to be positive and successful.
