Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his ministers and 10 MLAs of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party were invited by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for a meeting on Friday. However, the Delhi Chief Minister took a rain check citing his reasons owing to prior reasons. The invitation comes at a time when the Delhi government and Centre have been at loggerheads with each other over multiple issues including a Delhi government proposal to send its teachers for training in Finland.
CM Kejriwal cancels meeting with Delhi LG
The Delhi LG invited CM Kejriwal for a meeting on Republic Day. The LG had also requested the presence of his cabinets at 4 pm, Raj Niwas officials said on Thursday. However, the Delhi CM had to postpone the meeting due to his prior engagements. “Thank you LG sir. I am going to Punjab tomorrow. We are requesting the Honorable Lieutenant Governor to give another time for the meeting,” read a statement from his office,” the Delhi CM said in a statement.
Delhi’s teachers’ training proposal
The AAP chief along with his party MLAs had marched from the Vidhan Sabha to Raj Niwas to meet the Delhi LG to present teachers’ training priposal. The Delhi CM and his cabinet was met with disappointed as Saxena refused to meet them reportedly.
Saxena, later issued a statement, saying that the meeting with Delhi CM and all his MLAs would had been impossible at such a short notice. In response to LG’s letter, Kejriwal had suggested a fresh proposal for a meeting between the two sides.
