Delhi floods: All Municipal Corporation of Delhi-run schools will be closed on 17th and 18th July in flood affected area in the national capital, the civic body said on Sunday.

As the water level in the Yamuna river level reached to a record high, roads turned into rivers and water went into homes, hospitals, crematoriums, and shelter homes, interfering with regular life and inflicting tremendous suffering for the people in the national capital.

The water level in the Yamuna has decreased quickly, and we expect that by tonight it will be below the danger level. Our current top priorities are to restore normalcy and to establish camps for relief and rehabilitation for individuals who had to leave their homes. But many areas of the city continue to be under water. Atishi, a leader of the AAP and minister for Delhi PWD, claims that we are draining out water from the roads.
