The surge of COVID-19 in Delhi is turning out as a havoc. The Delhi High Court on Monday has refused to hear plea seeking directions for the reimposition of lockdown in the national capital.

With the rising COVID numbers and pollution Delhi government has came foreard with various laws in order to reduce the threat of both virus and pollution.

“Is the lockdown an only solution? Will the policy matter of the government be decided by the court?” a division bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan asked the petitioner.

The plea in front of Delhi High court has stated that the global research shows an emerging scientific consencus on the links between pollution, lockdown, and significant improvement in AQI.

“Experts have stated that the number of cases will keep increasing for at least two weeks after Diwali and the figures released by the Delhi Government itself have stated that the peak of the ‘third wave’ of COVID-19 in Delhi will reach in the last week of November or the first week of December,” the plea said.
