On Thursday, Delhi High Court issued summons to founder of Patanjali Group ‘Ramdev’ on a suit by Delhi Medical Association (DMA) seeking to restrain him from disseminating false information about Patanjali’s Coronil kit that it is a cure for COVID-19.
DMA says Ramadev’s statement in public is damaging the reputations of science and doctors. This is a suit for civil rights of doctors: Advocate Rajiv Dutta representing Delhi Medical Association said.
The high court verbally asked the counsel for yoga guru Ramdev to tell him not to make any provocative statement till the next date of hearing on July 13 and respond to the suit.
This comes after, Delhi Medical Association filed a suit in Delhi HC against Yoga guru Ramdev.
The petition was filed by DMA has sought to restrict yoga guru Ramdev from spreading false information about Coronil kit to be a cure for Covid-19. DMA, on behalf of its doctors said that the information creating confusion among masses at this crucial time and it is misleading. It said that the Ramdev’s statement affects as that medicine does not cure coronavirus.
Ramdev, the yoga guru is in news since past few days over his comments against the allopathic system of medicine, including coronavirus vaccines.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) took strong objection to the comments made by Ramdev last month. Citing a video circulating on social media, the IMA said Ramdev claimed that allopathy is a “stupid science”.
