In preparation for Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services will commence at 4 am on January 26, allowing commuters to reach Kartavya Path for the Republic Day parade. The DMRC shared this information on X, specifying service timings and providing guidelines for passengers alighting at designated stations based on their assigned enclosure numbers.
Early Commencement and Special Timings
DMRC revealed that metro services will begin at 4:00 AM on all lines to facilitate the public’s attendance at the Republic Day ceremony at Kartavya Path. Trains will be available at a headway of 30 minutes until 6:00 AM, after which regular timings will be followed for the rest of the day.
Guidelines for Passengers with E-invitations or E-tickets
Passengers holding e-invitation cards or e-tickets for the Republic Day ceremony are eligible to receive coupons by presenting a valid government-issued photo identity card at metro stations. These coupons will permit exits exclusively from Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations to reach Kartavya Path. A similar coupon will be applicable for the return journey from these two stations.
Alighting Recommendations Based on Enclosure Numbers
DMRC has provided specific guidelines for passengers alighting at stations based on their assigned enclosure numbers. Passengers with enclosure numbers 1 to 9, VI & V2 are advised to alight at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station, while those with enclosure numbers 10 to 24 and VN are recommended to exit at the Central Secretariat Metro Station. The DMRC emphasized that regular announcements inside trains will inform passengers about the designated stations to ensure a smooth journey to their respective enclosures.
