After the AAP government claimed that the PM Narendra Modi-led Central government has been put on hold its budget, Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj accused the government of conspiring against it. This, according to Bhardwaj, was more serious than treason. He continued by saying that although the Chief Secretary received the document instead of the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister, the Center had expressed concern over it.
When news came on Monday that the Delhi budget has been put on hold by the Center, he charged the Chief Secy with keeping the matter a secret while leaking it.
Speaking to the media about the issue, the recently appointed minister stated that the AAP government delivered the budget document to the Center for approval on March 10.
He further said that on March 17, the Centre expressed some concerns and sent the document back to the Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar rather than the Finance Minister or the Chief Minister.
Chief Secretary has frequently been charged with impeding the work of the Delhi government
Bhardwaj said that Chief Secretary has frequently been charged with impeding the work of the Delhi government. The Chief Secretary and the Finance Secretary also kept the development a secret, he continued. Bhardwaj noted that, whether it is Saturday or Sunday, there is no holiday when the budget is being produced.
He said, “Despite this, both secretaries hid the fact that Centre has sent back the document with some doubts.” The minister further said, “Yesterday when the headlines flashed that the budget was put on hold, the Chief Secretary came to Finance Minister and informed about the queries. The FM and CM prepared the answers and submitted the document to the LG in three hours.”
He claimed that the 2 crore residents of Delhi were the target of a plot by the Centre. He enquired as to what the G20 leaders would think of the Center being named after a area.
In response to the delivery of the Delhi budget to the Central government, Bhardwaj argued that this was not a constitutional structure and that the officials of the Central government should receive the state’s budget, which is sacred and private.
“Will the Babus of Centre tell an elected assembly what to include in Budget,” Bhardwaj asked. He also asked if the Centre will dismiss the Chief secretary and the finance secretary from their respective service and if the LG will issue an order in the same regard.
A sanitation worker, a teacher, and workers of the national capital government, according to the Delhi MLA, would believe that the Center had stopped their salary.
This comes after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleged on Monday that the Center had delayed the presentation of the Delhi government’s budget before the Assembly.
The Delhi budget will not be presented on Tuesday, according to a video that the AAP posted of Kejriwal announcing it on a News 18 programme on Monday.
He claimed that the Center was indulging in “gundagardi” and that the nation’s budget had been suspended for the first time ever.
