Delhi Murder Case: Did Aftab’s outstanding water bill raise red flag for the police? details here

Delhi Murder Case

Delhi Murder Case: Police are looking into how Aftab Poonawala, who is accused of killing and chopping off his live-in girlfriend Shraddha Walkar in Mehrauli, Delhi, managed to receive a water bill despite receiving 20,000 litres of water for free each month. According to reports, police are reportedly searching why he received the Rs. 300 outstanding bill.

Water bill has come as a surprise

The majority of homes in the colony have “zero” water bills since 20,000 litres, or around 35 buckets per day, is more than enough for an average family. The couple had moved into the leased apartment on May 14, but the investigation claims that Aftab Poonawala had been living alone since May 18, the day he is accused of killing Shraddha Walkar.

The father of the flat’s owner, Rohan Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, indicated that the rent was 9,000 per month and remarked, “Such a huge water bill is extremely surprising.” Aftab’s name appears first on the rent agreement, followed by Shraddha’s, according to sources. Rajendra Kumar explained that there was never a need for him to visit the apartment since he used to online transfer the rent between the eighth and tenth of every month.

Her parents had no connection with her

After her parents, who hadn’t talked to her since last year because they were concerned about her interfaith (Hindu-Muslim) relationship, went to the police, Aftab Poonawala was detained earlier this month. When Shraddha’s friends informed him that they hadn’t heard from her in more than two months, he reported her as “missing” and later opened a kidnapping case. Then, Delhi and Maharashtra police worked together to solve the crime.

Police will conduct a narco test soon

Police has said that after murdering her after a dispute about household finances and cheating, he chopped up her body with a knife, stored the pieces in a new refrigerator he bought, and dispersed them in a neighbouring jungle over the course of 18 days.

In order to enhance the case before the trial, police have requested permission to conduct a lie-detector test on Aftab. The police estimated that it would take 15 days for the results of DNA tests to determine whether some body parts found in the forest belonged to Shraddha.
