Gita Deshwal allegedly attacked Vandana with a pair of scissors
In a fit of rage, Gita Deshwal allegedly attacked Vandana with a pair of craft scissors before throwing her off the first-floor classroom. Riya, another teacher, reportedly tried to intervene but was unable to prevent her colleague from throwing the girl down.
A large crowd gathered when the girl fell from the first floor. The severely injured child was taken to the Bara Hindu Rao hospital by a resident.
“All necessary tests, including a CT scan, have been done. The child is safe and stable and responding well,” according to an MCD official.
Vandana’s mother sobbed when she learned of her daughter being thrown down.
The residents also called the police, who arrested the teacher. According to senior police officer Shweta Chauhan, who cited witness statements, she will face attempted murder charges.
At the spot where the child fell, a pair of gloves and some stationery was found scattered.

Outraged parents staged protests outside the school
Following the incident, a large number of people, including outraged parents, protested at the school. When the police arrived and promised to take action against the teacher, the crowd dispersed.
The child’s classroom was a shambles, with stationery, bags, and furniture strewn about. According to the police, students fled the classroom in fear as the teacher attempted to harm them.
Another parent of a Class 5 student claimed that the headmaster did not communicate with parents. “Is this the way the school is educating children, by beating and harming them with scissors? Do we send our children to school for this. Who will take responsibility for this,” he was quoted by the sources.
