The tender for the project has already been sent and is likely to open this week. A DTC official said that once the architect for the project is decided, then the work will start by September this year. The entire colony is expected to be ready within 30 months time.

‘Some parts of the area encroached illegally’

However the National Buildings Construction Corporation is hoping to earn around 766 crores with this project. He also said that they will used some part of the money for the renovation of the flats, the remaining amount will be provided to the DTC. However according to some DTC officials, the area where the project is going to begin has some hitches, they also believe that some part of the land has been illegally encroached. The court had asked to evacuate the area in the year 2006, but despite the order being given, there had been no efforts by any authority to get the land evacuated.
