Delhi News: The national capital of India, New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1 has collapsed today. The part of the T-1 collapsed down in the early morning. The travellers are considering it as a security glitch. However there has been confirmed about one casualty. As per the reports, 7 people have been also injured as a result of this incident. The few vehicles in the pickup and drop areas have been affected by this collapse after its supporting beam fall down. Meanwhile, a search and rescue operation was operated at the Airport to exactly check the possibility of passengers under the debris. This has also impacted the other passengers badly who are willing to travel today from Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Delhi News: Checkout the weather condition
After the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, the Delhi NCR was predicted to have heavy rainfall after it hit the city with a significant amount of rainfall yesterday. It was raining by cats and dogs since early morning resulting in the water clogging in several parts of the city. The current temperature of the city is 25.2 degrees Celsius. However the maximum temperature of the city is predicted to be 32 degrees Celsius as per IMD forecast. Delhi would have cloudy sky throughout the day with the possibility of few spells of more rain.
Terminal 1 (T-1) collapsed within months after its expansion
The expansion of the terminal 1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport was completed in March, 2024. It was then inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. However, it was inaugurated from Azamgarh and was one of the 15 projects that was launched by the Prime Minister. As per the reports, after the expansion of Terminal-1, it is capable of accommodating double of the passengers annually that it used to before.
