NDMC’s new Directive: No Mobile Towers in Central Vista

Delhi News: The New Delhi Municipal Corporation has laid some fresh Guidelines for the setting up of Communication Towers and given special instructions which says that no cellphone towers will be put up in the Central Vista area. The NDMC has directed seven rules as a part of its directive to be strictly followed to bring consistency in the area. The NDMC has made amendments in the rules for the setting up of communication towers by the Telecom Companies on the rooftops.

‘Towers without Permission will be fined Rs 10,000 Per Month’

The setting up of these towers should not hamper the heritage and aesthetic aspects of the national capital. The Mobile Phone Towers which are put up without any permission after the implementation of the policy will end up with a fine of Rs10,000 per month from the day the tower is being installed. And for those towers which are already there, the service provider will have to apply for the standardization within 30 days of the notification. They will also have to pay for the arrears from the date they have been placed.

‘The New Plan has hiked the fee from Rupees 2 lakhs to Rupees 3 Lakhs’

The New Plan has also hiked the one time permission fine from Rupees 2 lakhs to Rupees 3 lakhs for the next five years. The NDMC also said that no sanctioned ‘cell on wheels’ will be permitted in the NDMC area.
