Delhi News: The Supreme court of India has decided to appoint a temporary person to lead the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Position has been lying vacant since the month of January this year. Senior Lawyer Harish Salve said, the court can suggest the names for the appointment of the DERC Chairperson, and he or she will be appointed

The Post has been vacant since January

Delhi CM had suggested the name of the Retired High court judge Rajeev Srivastava but he refused citing personal reasons. The CM again suggested the name of Justice Sangeet lodha. Meanwhile the Centre appointed Justice Umesh Kumar for the post.

Delhi Government had been searching for the right click for the Post

The Delhi Government had earlier moved the Supreme Court challenging the appointment of the Former Allahabad High Court Judge as the DERC Chairperson. The party has been approaching the court for the delay in the appointment of the DERC chief.
