Reports of Underworld don and gansgster Chhota Rajan is dead due to COVID had made the headlines after news agency ANI quoted. The AIIMS officials refuted the allegations of his death on Friday.
Chhota Rajan was admitted in to hospital on April 26 after he tested positive COVID.
61-year-old Rajan was in Tihar Jail in New Delhi, since his arrest from Bali, Indonesia, in 2015.
All the pending criminal cases pending him in Mumbai were transferred to CBI and special court was constituted to try them.
There are more than 70 criminal cases pertaining to extortion and murder in Mumbai.
In 2018, he was sentenced life imprisonment in the 2011 murder case of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.
