Delhi: In northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura, a 16-year-old girl was detained after she was accused of firing gunshots at a 50-year-old woman. The lady was the mother of the boy whom she accused of raping her in 2001. The 25-year-old men is presently being held in connection with the same crime. The 50-year old lady was taken to a hospital right away where she is receiving treatment and is reportedly not in any danger.
50-year old woman taken to hospital
According to sources, the police control room received a call at around 5.30 pm informing them that shots had been fired in the Ghonda neighbourhood of Bhajanpura. The injured woman was transported to Pravesh Chandra Hospital by residents when police arrived on the scene and learned that a child had fired a gun at the woman.
The girl approached the victim’s shop, fired at her, and then left. On the first floor of her home, the woman operates a food shop. Locals and the victim’s family were able to identify the accused girl, and she was quickly arrested.
According to a senior police official, the victim, named as Khursheeda, a native of Subhash Mohalla, was carried to a hospital by the community. Her son, who is charged with rape, is a juvenile, and the lady owns a grocery store.
Accused is still in Jail: Delhi Police
A police official was quoted as saying, “It has come to the fore that the girl had alleged that she was raped by the woman’s son in 2021, after which a case on charges of rape and under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered. The 25-year-old son was then arrested and is still lodged in jail.”
Continuing further, he said “The investigation is at a preliminary stage and the motive will become clear once the girl is interrogated at length. We are also speaking to the woman, her family and the accused’s family to ascertain the motive.”
