An under-construction building collapsed in the national capital on Monday evening. The incident took place at Nicholson Road near Kashmiri Gate.
So far, eight people have been rescued, while some people are feared trapped, reported ANI. However, the reason behind the collapse is yet to be known.
Among those injured are Dilip (22), a resident of Chabi Ganj, Mohd Musaib (35), a resident of Turkman Gate, and Mohd Shami (42), a resident of Jama Masjid area. All those who have received injuries have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
Meanwhile, the search and rescue operation is underway.
“The incident took place around 5pm. No casualty has been reported so far. A team of NDRF has also reached the spot. Rescue work has been started, ” said Rajesh Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, MCD.
