Delhi Woman & Child Department officer Raped Teenage Girl for Months, Wife gave abortion pills – Details

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have detained a senior official from the Women and Child Development department and his wife on suspicion of raping his friend’s 14-year-old (now 17-year-old) daughter over the course of many months and getting her pregnant. Her wife gave her drugs for an abortion. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, commanded the senior official’s suspension on Monday.

The girl used to call accused “Mama”

After her father passed away on October 1, 2020, the survivor, a Class 12 student in Delhi, moved in with the accused, Premoday Khakha, and his family. Premoday Khakha works as the WCD department’s deputy director. She used to refer to him as “mama” (her maternal uncle), while he served as her local guardian.

Between November 2020 and January 2021, when the girl was 14 years old, the accused is alleged to have raped her many times. In accordance with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Delhi Police has also filed a FIR accusing the accused and his wife of rape. In order to end the pregnancy, the wife is accused of giving her pills.

Police responds to the case

The Police official said, “The survivor said that she started living with a family friend, her guardian, after her father’s death from October 2020 to February 2021. She was sexually harassed, physically molested and repeatedly raped by the uncle under whose care and guardianship she was staying at his house. The survivor started having anxiety bouts and was admitted to a hospital a week back.”

Continuing further, he said, “She stated having panic attacks after undergoing the termination of pregnancy by the accused and his wife. A medical examination has been done and an investigation is on. Details will be disclosed after recording the judicial statement in front of the magistrate. The survivor is still recovering and is under care. She is a minor and a student. After registering the FIR, we filed an application in court on the second day itself to record the statement of the girl in front of the magistrate, but the doctor refused permission, saying she was not in the right mental condition.”
