The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made a big allegation against the BJP in Delhi’s Sultanpuri police station area for dragging a girl for several kilometers in a car and killing her. AAP said that one of the accused involved in the incident is a member of the BJP. On the shocking incident in Sultanpuri, AAP’s chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Manoj Mittal, one of the five accused arrested in the case, is a member of the BJP. He said that Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena is trying to save senior officers of Delhi Police.
AAP targets BJP
Sharing pictures of Mangolpuri police station, Bhardwaj said it is ironic that right next to the police station there is a hoarding, which has Mittal’s photo and identifies him as a BJP member. Responding to AAP’s allegation, Delhi BJP media cell head Harish Khurana said that the police have arrested the accused.
According to a PTI report, he said that the culprits should be given the harshest punishment, irrespective of which party they belong to.
The AAP, which has been repeatedly at loggerheads with the office of the Lieutenant Governor over the distribution of powers in the capital Delhi, today demanded immediate sacking of Saxena from the post. Bhardwaj said, “He doesn’t know anything about Delhi. If I drop them at Sultanpuri, they will not know in which direction Najafgarh is.”
Bhardwaj told the media that the eyewitness who informed the police about the woman being dragged on the streets called 22 times, but the police failed to catch the accused red-handed.
Delhi Police has said that the accused had told them that their car had met with an accident, but they did not know that the woman was being dragged.
Rejecting this argument, Bhardwaj said, “Even if polythene gets stuck under our car, there is noise and we get down and investigate. Here a dead body was dragged for 12 km and the police is saying that the music was very loud, that the accused were unaware of it.”
