In Aman Vihar, locality in northwest Delhi, a 28-year-old woman died on Monday, police said, days after she allegedly caught fire after being allegedly set on fire by her live-in partner over a drug dispute.
The police were informed on February 11 that a woman with burn injuries had been admitted to SGM Hospital. The woman was found unfit to give a statement when the police arrived at the hospital, they said.
She was found to be a labourer of A footwear industry and a resident of Balbir Vihar in northwest Delhi.
Woman was sent to Safdarjung Hospital and then to the AIIMS
According to them, she was sent to Safdarjung Hospital and then to the AIIMS Trauma Center for extra treatments.
According to investigations, the woman had divorced from her husband and had been living with the accused, Mohit, for the last six years, a senior police officer stated.
She had two kids: one from her first marriage and the other from Mohit.
The woman’s serious condition due to which she was incapable of giving statement. She passed away at the hospital on Monday, according to the officer, and a post-mortem was performed.
Case filed at the Aman Vihar police station
According to the police, a murder case has been filed at the Aman Vihar police station based on the evidence of her family members.
According to the complaint, the woman and Mohit got into a fight on the evening of February 10 after she saw him doing drugs at his friend’s house, the senior officer said.
According to the police, the accused doused her in “tarpin oil” and lit her on fire.
They stated that Mohit had been arrested and that more investigation was being conducted.
