“Next time when there is talk of elections and politics, do not waste your valuable time on useless talks and analysis of idle fake journalists, loudmouth politicians, and self-proclaimed experts of social media,” posted Prashant Kishor, a political analyst well-known for his astute observations into Indian politics. This remark, which has been translated from Hindi, emphasises Kishor’s appeal for the public at large to continue being cautious of media narratives during the election season.

Exit Polls Predicting BJP-Led NDA’s Victory

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is expected to win comfortably, according to the most recent exit polls. This might allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win an unprecedented third term. The India Today-My Axis India Exit Poll predicts that the NDA would get between 361 and 401 seats, exceeding its 2019 total.

Projections for Opposition and Key States

The opposition-led INDIA alliance is expected to win between 131 and 166 seats, according to exit polls, indicating a sizable divide between the opposition and the ruling coalition. If confirmed on June 4, these outcomes would represent a crushing defeat for opposition parties and a clear support of PM Modi’s leadership.

Similar projections were made by a number of other polling agencies, including Jan Ki Baat, Republic TV P Marq, India News-D Dynamics, and Republic Bharat Matrize. According to estimations, the NDA has about 365 seats.

BJP’s Expanding Influence in Southern States

The India Today-My Axis India poll highlighted BJP’s significant inroads in traditionally non-BJP southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Additionally, the poll suggested potential upsets in Odisha and Bengal, indicating the BJP’s growing strength over regional powerhouses like Naveen Patnaik’s BJD and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress.

Kishor’s Previous Predictions

Predicting that the BJP will repeat its 2019 performance, Prashant Kishor has repeatedly stressed that even with the backing of allies, winning over 400 seats would be difficult. Despite not winning more than 370 seats, he predicted that the BJP will continue to hold a majority of more than 270 seats.
