BBC documentary on PM Modi: The Delhi University students organised a screening of BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, January 27. Their announcement came days after the Union Government announced the ban on the contentious documentary. However, the screening could not take place after the power cut at the varsity campus. After this, the students were seen raising ‘Azaadi’ slogans as they watched the documentary on their phones.
Students raise ‘Azaadi’ slogans
On Friday, a group of students were seen raising slogans after the power cut at the university campus disrupted the screening of the BBC documentary on Prime Minister. The slogans were raised to oppose the University’s decision to bar the screening. Meanwhile, a few Right Wing students were also seen raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans.
Power cut at Ambedkar college
The power cut had disrupted the screening of the documentary at the Ambedkar College of Delhi University’s north campus. Despite University’s efforts to bar the screening of the banned documentary, students found an alternative method as they continued to watch it on their mobile phones. A few students were also seen distributing QR codes for alternative screening on mobile phones.
