On Saturday night, Noida and Gurugram, two neighboring areas, also experienced strong earthquake tremors, which prompted people to rush out of their houses and offices. According to reports, the tremors started at 8 p.m. and lasted for almost 5 seconds.
Apart from Delhi, the tremors were also felt in parts of Uttarakhand, including cities like New Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Pauri, and others.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said the epicenter of the earthquake was in Nepal.
This is the second time in a week that Delhi has experienced earthquake shocks. When an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 rocked Western Nepal on Wednesday morning, shock waves were felt throughout north India, including Delhi and the nearby cities of Ghaziabad and Gurugram.
