Earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. It measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. However, there is no report of damage in the state so far.
Earlier on Saturday night also tremors of earthquake were felt in the state. These tremors came in the Alchi area of Leh. The Seismology Center said that an earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was felt near Jammu and Kashmir in Alchi (Leh) on Saturday night. The tremors of these earthquakes came at 9:59 pm Indian time. Its depth was 10 km. The epicenter of the quake was 103 km south-southwest of Alchi. There was no damage due to these tremors.
At the same time, an earthquake of moderate intensity was felt in the Union Territory of Ladakh on 24 October. This information was given by the National Center for Seismology. Its intensity was recorded at 4.2. The tremor of the earthquake occurred in the Kargil region of the Union Territory at 11.29 am and its epicenter was located at a depth of 140 km. Officials said that there was no report of any damage due to this. The Himalayan region is vulnerable to earthquakes.

In August also, earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. An earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit the Udhampur-Katra belt of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of 29 August. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that the tremor came about 54 km from Katra at 5:08 am. He told that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of five kilometers from the ground. Earthquake tremors have been felt continuously in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few months.
