Eid Mubarak: PM Modi, President Murmu greet people on Eid-ul-Fitr

Eid Mubarak: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed for the health and well-being of the people. “Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May the spirit of harmony and compassion be furthered in our society. I also pray for everyone’s wonderful health and well-being. Eid Mubarak!,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

President Droupadi Murmu also greeted citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr saying that the festival spreads feelings of love, compassion and affection. “On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all citizens living in India and abroad, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters,” President Murmu said.

“Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival spreads feelings of love, compassion and affection. Eid gives us the message of solidarity and mutual harmony. This festival is imbued with the spirit of harmony and inspires us to build a peaceful and prosperous society,” she added.

Rahul Gandhi extends greetings

Other leaders also greeted people on the occasion.  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi too extended Eid greetings. Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, “Eid Mubarak to everyone! May this auspicious festival bring peace, happiness & prosperity to all.”

“Eid Mubarak to each and every one of you,” Gandhi tweeted.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended warm greetings to the people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday. “The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr promotes brotherhood and spreads the message of peace and harmony,” CM Yogi said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday greeted people on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr. “Eid Mubarak,” he tweeted.
