Eid-Ul-Fitr 2023: Muslims all around the world are getting ready for the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr. The celebration, also known as Meethi Eid or Eid al-Fitr, signals the completion of the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims observe Roza (fasting) from dawn until dark for one month while partaking in religious activities and introspection.

Muslims finish their Roza on this day, give thanks to Allah for providing them with health and strength during Ramadan, don new garments, cook special foods, give to the needy, and spend time with their loved ones. Following the sighting of the new moon, the festival is often observed on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.

Date of Eid-Ul-Fitr 2023

The Islamic calendar’s Shawwal month, which contains roughly 29 or 30 days in a month, is when Eid ul-Fitr occurs. Eid-Ul-Fitr occurs on different days in different parts of the world since the start of each lunar Hijri month differs depending on when religious authorities observe the new moon. The dates for this year’s Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations are Friday, April 21, through Sunday, April 23. The actual date can change depending on the moon’s sighting.

History Of Eid-Ul-Fitr

It is claimed that the Prophet Muhammad received the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. Muslims observe a fast from sunrise till nightfall, focus their prayers on Allah, and avoid thinking negatively during this blessed month. Ramadan comes to a close on Eid-ul-Fitr. They gather with friends and family to celebrate the Roza over a nice supper.
