Ekta Nagar Railway Station: In the last few years, the names of many railway stations have been changed, now the name of Kevadiya Railway Station of Gujarat has also been added to this list. Actually Kevadiya Railway Station will now be known as Ekta Nagar Railway Station. The Ministry of Railways has approved the renaming of Statue of Unity’s Kevadiya railway station, which will henceforth be known as ‘Ekta Nagar’ railway station for the passengers of the country and the world.

This is not the first time that the name of a railway station has been changed, in the past also the names of many railway stations have been changed.

According to a report by Gujarat, Kevadiya, a village in East Central Gujarat has many attractions, which are named after unity. This includes Ekta Mall and Ekta Cruise. This is also because Sardar Patel’s birthday is also celebrated as Ekta Diwas. On the other hand, according to the Divisional Railway Manager, Vadodara, the station code of Ekta Nagar Railway will be EKNR- 08224620.

Actually Kevadiya Railway Station has 3 platforms. At the same time, in front of the Narmada river, it is 7 kilometers away from the small town of Kevadiya. The main purpose of the construction of the station is to make the Statue of Unity more accessible to tourists. At the same time, Kevadiya railway station is located just 5 kilometers from the Statue of Unity. Significantly, it is also the first railway station in India with a green building certificate.

The station building was divided into three levels, with the first two levels containing facilities for passengers and the third floor containing an art gallery. Which was inaugurated on 17 January 2021 only. Many stations have been renamed in the past, Habibganj in Madhya Pradesh was renamed as Rani Kamalapati in the past. Prior to that, Allahabad’s Prayagraj and Faizabad’s Ayodhya Cantonment have been renamed.
