Emergency landing of Go First flight going from Bangalore to Patna has been done at Nagpur airport. There were 139 passengers on the flight. An official informed that the flight has made an emergency landing due to technical reasons. All the passengers are reported to be safe.
News agency PTI quoted airport director Abid Roohi as saying, “The pilot contacted Nagpur ATC to inform that one of the aircraft’s engines was facing a problem and requested an emergency landing at Nagpur airport.” We made all necessary arrangements by declaring it as a full-scale emergency, including providing runways, fire brigade, doctors, ambulances and the need for coordination with the police. Luckily the plane landed safely.
News agency ANI quoted a Go First spokesperson as saying, “The cockpit of the Go First flight from Bangalore to Patna was diverted to Nagpur after warning of a faulty engine, due to which the captain shut down the engine as a precaution. After this the captain got the plane landing safely at Nagpur airport.
He also said, ‘All the passengers have been de-boarded from the aircraft and refreshments have been given. Alternate aircraft have been arranged to send the passengers to Patna. This flight will take off for Patna at 4:45 pm. The engineering team is checking the aircraft.’
