Encounter continues between security forces and terrorists in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. During this encounter, the security forces have got great success. Four Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists have been killed in Shopian’s Drach. The security forces had received the news of the hiding of the terrorists. After encircling the area, there was firing from the terrorists, in response to which the security forces also opened fire and targeted three terrorists.
A police official said that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Drach area of south Kashmir. When the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire on the security forces, the search operation turned into an encounter. The officer said that firing is going on from both the sides.
ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that the slain terrorists Hanan bin Yakub and Jamshed were recently involved in the killing of SPO Javed Dar on October 2 at Pingalana in Pulwama. Along with this, both of them were also involved in the murder of an outside laborer from West Bengal in Pulwama on 24 September.
An official said that as soon as the joint team of security forces laid siege to the suspected place, the terrorists hiding there started firing. The encounter took place a few hours after Amit Shah reached Srinagar. Earlier, he had addressed a public meeting in Rajouri.
