Exit Poll 2024: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared with confidence that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone could form the government. Speaking ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections 2024, Saini said, “We would not require any kind of alliance. I have said right at the beginning that the BJP would form the government independently. We have all the arrangements in place.” He added that while the party remained open to alliances if required, he was more than sure BJP would garner enough seats on its own.
Congress MP Deepender Hooda Criticizes Saini’s Confidence
This confidence by Saini raised a sharp reaction from the Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda who said, “This kind of confidence comes from the training of BJP. The leaders of the BJP are trained in such a way that they can say the biggest lies with self-confidence. Nayab Saini should be concerned about his constituency, Ladwa.”
Hooda even declared that there is an appropriate political weather now in Haryana which has reversed against the BJP and in favor of the Congress, mainly due to the hard work done by the party’s leadership and Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.”. He said, “Congress is back in North India. The people of Haryana have elected Congress with a big majority and have ended the misrule of the BJP.” He underlined that exit polls have shown some revival signs of the Congress and was hopeful about the election results.
Congress’ Comeback in North India
Talking to the internal process of the Congress party about the choice of leadership, Hooda said that the high command would decide on the Chief Minister’s face when Congress wins. Hooda said, “Our objective was not the post but to bring a change and the government by the Congress party. The way Rahul Gandhi has fought with truthfulness and honesty has created a favorable mood for Congress across the entire country.”
Meanwhile, the voting percentage up to 5 pm on election day touched 61 percent in Haryana. While in the districts, Mewat touched the highest at 68.28 percent. However, the lowest polling percentage was recorded from Gurugram at 49.97%. Polling percentages of other districts such as Yamunanagar, Palwal, and Fatehabad are also high, which indicates high interest among the masses in the crucial poll.
