S Jaishankar: Days after a group of pro-Khalistani demonstrators vandalised the Indian High Commission in London and tore down a Tricolor from the premises, Union Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar criticised the UK government of failing to uphold security duties. “The obligation to provide protection for a diplomat to perform their duties and to guarantee that the embassy or high commission’s property is respected falls on the receiving country. These commitments weren’t kept. The British administration and I have discussed this,” S Jaishankar said.
