The United Kisan Morcha has accused the central government of betraying the pending demands of the farmers. Along with this, SKM has announced to march towards Raj Bhavan on 26th November. SKM, the body of farmer unions leading the movement against the new agricultural laws, has called a meeting on 8 December to decide the future program of the movement.
Farmers to celebrate ‘Fateh Day’
Farmers will celebrate ‘Fateh Day’ or ‘Victory Day’ on 19 November as the central government ordered the repeal of the new agricultural laws on this day following their agitation. SKM leader Darshan Pal says that a march will be organized from December 1 to 11 to the offices of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of all political parties.
‘Central government has completely reneged on the written promises’
The SKM alleged that the central government has completely reneged on the written promises made to the farmers after ending the protest on 9 December. The SKM claimed that neither the committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) was formed nor the ‘false’ cases filed against the farmers during the agitation were withdrawn.
SKM also accused the government of not considering the issue of legal guarantee on MSP, the biggest demand of the farmers.
