Fog Update

Fog Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected “cold wave to severe cold wave” conditions in these states till January 18 and 19. As a result, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and a number of other states are set to experience the bitter cold for a few more days.

According to the IMD, the cold wave conditions over northwest India should subside starting on January 19. Additionally, West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to see “thick to extremely severe fog” in isolated areas until January 18. According to the IMD, “thick fog” is also predicted to cover Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Odisha, as well as Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura until January 20.

Delhi

Moderate fog will continue engulf the national capital today as well. IMD has predicted coldwave to abate within a couple of days, while hailstorm and rain is projected for next week. For today, the visibility is predicted to be 500 metres during early morning hours and will increase up to 1500 metres later.

Lucknow

Contrasting to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow will remain under the thick blanket of fog today in the morning. Though, relief is expected only after the morning. During the morning, the visibility will mostly be 300 metres.

Jaipur

As per the latest fog update, Jaipur will continue to remain free from fog today as well. The temperature, though, will continue to be on the lower end.

Amritsar

Today is expected to be much better in comparison to previous days. IMD has predicted the visibility to be around 1500 metres today in the morning while it is likely to get increased upto 2500 metres.
