Fog Update: As the winter season closes its end, the fog has started to abate from the region as well. Due to the new western disturbance, the rains have already showered several regions in the North. Several areas will get relief from the fog today as well. With the new forecast, it is anticipated that fog will likely start to diminish from the beginning of new month i.e. February.
The morning and night hours of January 30th are likely to be shrouded in a blanket of dense fog over the states of Punjab and Haryana, as well as the union territory of Chandigarh and Delhi. This weather phenomenon is a common occurrence during the winter months, but it can make travel conditions quite treacherous.
The dense fog can also affect flights and train schedules, causing delays or cancellations. Those who are travelling during this time are advised to check the latest updates from the airlines and rail authorities before setting out.
Delhi
Relief is predicted for the national capital Delhi in comparison to previous days. As per the latest fog update, the visibility will drop up to 800 metres in the morning comprising of shallow fog and will then eventually improve up to 1500 metres.
Lucknow
Shallow fog has been predicted to engulf UP’s capital Lucknow as well. The visibility during the early morning hours will stay in the range of 600 metres and then eventually improve up to 2000 metres.

Jaipur
After a few fog-free days, Jaipur has been predicted to engulf under fog’s prowess once again. IMD has predicted that during the morning, visibility will drop up to 800 metres.
Amritsar
Similar to Delhi, light rains have been projected in Amritsar as well. Owing to the rains, the visibility will remain around 600-800 metres in the city and then will eventually improve to 2000 metres.
