Fog Update

Fog Update: Between Monday and Wednesday, the Delhi-NCR region is expected to experience a recurrence of the cold wave in numerous locations. It is anticipated that the lowest temperature would be approximately 3 degrees Celsius. According to statistics from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi saw a severe cold wave stretch from January 5 to January 9, the second longest in the month in a decade.

It has also so far this month recorded more than 50 hours of thick fog, which is the most since 2019. For Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh over the next five days, it is highly possible that certain areas may see dense to extremely dense fog during the night and early morning hours. The weather service has encouraged people to cover their head, neck, hands, and toes while wearing multiple layers of loose-fitting, warm clothes.

Delhi

In a surprise turn of events, where the IMD has predicted a subtle coldwave in the region, the fog is likely to decrease. As per the latest fog update, the visibility in the morning is predicted to be 1000M while it is expected to get upto 2500 metres after the morning. Overall, the day is predicted to be clear.

Lucknow

Similar to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow is predicted to get some relief from foggy conditions as well. During the early morning hours, the visibility is predicted to be 600 metres whereas it is likely to increase up to 1000 metres.

Jaipur

After foggy conditions in the city for few days, the tides are turning yet again. Today is expected to be fog-free in the city once again. Though, with the severity of coldwave, the temperatures are predicted to be on the lower end.

Amritsar

Amritsar too, is predicted to remain free from fog in contrast with the last few days. As per the IMD, the visibility in the early hours will be 2500 metres which will then increase to 3500 metres.
