Fog Update: On Thursday, a dense fog will be present in some areas of northern India. Cities throughout the Plains will experience severely reduced visibility, which has severely disrupted daily life and caused significant traffic problems.
In New Delhi, where the temperature has already started to drop up to 8 degrees Celsius, the thick fog has shrouded the city. Traffic slowed to a crawl, and many motorists opting to the risky habit of operating their hazard lights while driving. Some people built bonfires to stay warm, but the smoke and fog they produced mixed to create smog, which reduced visibility even further.
Delhi
As per the IMD, the national capital is likely to be under the blanket of fog today as well. As per the IMD, the visibility is likely to get severly reduced in the morning and even futher in the nights. The visibility will get reduced to 0800M in shallow fog.
Lucknow
According to the new fog update, UP’s capital is on the same trend as Delhi. Severe fogs continue to dampen the city along with severe cold problems. According to the latest update, the visibility will get reduce to 0400M in the evenings and early morning.
Amritsar
Visibility will get reduced to 0600M in shallow fog. However, as the morning will proceed it is likely to get improved as it will reach to the figure of 1500M in the early morning. The city is likely to have similar weather pattern for several days.
Jaipur
IMD has predicted that fog will not affect the city. However, it is yet unknown that until when this phenomenon will continue to impact Jaipur. According to many, this could also be fog-free season for Jaipur this time.
