Climate change, debt, food security, sustainability, and geopolitical war are all on the agenda. ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ has been emphasised as the theme of this year’s summit by India, which is currently holding the G20 chair. The joint leaders’ proclamation, which has been hampered by a lack of consensus, is the focus of attention.

The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an intergovernmental organisation that was founded in 1999 and consists of 19 nations plus the European Union (EU). It strives to address important global economic concerns like international financial stability, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable development. Every year, a different G20 member country hosts the summit. New Delhi, India is hosting the G20 meeting in 2023. “One Earth, One Family, One Future” or “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is the summit’s theme.
