Ganesh Chaturthi 2023

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: In 2023, Ganesh Chaturthi is observed from September 19 to September 28, following the Hindu calendar’s Chaturthi date in the Bhadrapada month. This ten-day celebration begins with people welcoming Ganpati Bappa idols into their homes, symbolising the arrival of Lord Ganesha to bring happiness, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles in their lives. To help you plan, let’s explore the auspicious date, puja timing, and favourable yogas for Ganesh Chaturthi 2023.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Shubh Muhurat

As per reports, the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Bhadrapada month will commence at 12:39 PM on September 18 and conclude at 01:43 PM on September 19. Following the Udayatithi tradition, the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration will commence on September 19. This year, the Ravi Yoga will be present on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, lasting from 06:08 AM to 01:48 PM. The auspicious time for Ganesh Chaturthi Puja falls between 11:01 AM and 01:28 PM.

On September 19, bringing Lord Ganesha’s idol home during the Ravi Yoga in the afternoon is an auspicious choice due to the favourable puja time. However, for those who prefer to welcome Ganpati a day earlier on September 18, the Abhijit Muhurat is highly recommended. Abhijit Muhurta on September 18 falls between 11:51 AM and 12:40 PM, making it an ideal time for the arrival of Ganpati Bappa. Additionally, on that day, the Ravi Yoga is observed from 12:08 PM to 06:08 AM the following day. Apart from Abhijit Muhurta, devotees have the option to bring Lord Ganesha into their homes during the auspicious Choghadiya Muhurta.

What not to do on Ganesh Chaturthi 2023?

During the welcoming of Ganpati Bappa, it is crucial for devotees to be mindful of Rahukaal. On September 18, Rahukaal falls between 07:39 AM and 09:11 AM. It is considered inauspicious to bring Lord Ganesha home during Rahukaal, so it should be avoided for the well-being of the family and the auspiciousness of the occasion.
