Ghaziabad RapidX Launch: The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will have its 17-kilometer priority segment opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. The priority portion of the 82.15-kilometer route, which runs between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, will be opened and accessible for passenger traffic on Saturday, October 21. By June 2025, the entire corridor should be operational.
Concurrently, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri declared that the RRTS trains will be dubbed “Namo Bharat.” At a cost of about ₹30,000 crore, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor will link Delhi and Meerut in less than an hour, passing via the cities of Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, and Modinagar, according to the PMO. According to the PMO release, the RRTS is a cutting-edge regional mobility system that can be compared to the best in the world.
A local, at the venue of the event in Sahibabad, Shubhank Agarwal says, “This will be very important. This will be very convenient for all passengers going from Delhi to Meerut. Right now, it takes a lot of time for them to go to Meerut; commuting will become easy for them. Daily passengers will find it convenient for them…”
