Ghaziabad News: Days after tomatoes were sold at Rs 80/kg in Delhi in the Retail markets through NAFED, the tomatoes are now sold at Rs 50 per kg by the Krishi Mandi Samiti in Sahibabad. Centre plans to distribute more tomatoes in all the remaining areas of Delhi and NCR. These tomatoes were sold in the Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad. The farmers had destroyed the crop of tomato to sow the paddy crop which led to the shortage of tomatoes in the market. The authorities had then tried to organize a camp to sell tomatoes on an affordable rate to the consumers.
Krishi Samiti selling Tomatoes at 50 Rs Per Kg
The Krishi Mandi Samiti of the Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad is trying to sell the tomatoes to the consumers on reasonable rates. After this, lots of people of the Raj Nagar area gathered in huge crowds to buy tomatoes. The Krishi Samiti is trying to sell the tomatoes to every individual at 50 Rupees per kg. Its not just tomatoes that have crashed the budget of the Indian kitchen, its also the soaring prices of ginger, coriander and garlic and even chilies are giving consumer the chills.
Even chilies are burning common man’s budget
Tomato prices have reached a record high of Rs 250 per kg have dipped slightly to 150 lg in the Metropolitan cities. It is still being unaffordable for the Middle Class to buy. The steep price had forced residents to cut down tomatoes from their households and reduce the consumption of tomato.
