PM Modi: On Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the new Parliament building. A grand puja, the installation of the Sengol, the showing of two short films, and the issuance of a commemorative coin and stamp are all included in the inauguration.
Boycott of Inauguration Ceremony
Twenty opposition parties, including the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party, which is in power in Delhi, and the Trinamool Congress, which is led by Mamata Banerjee, announced a joint statement on Wednesday calling for a boycott of the occasion. According to the statement from the Opposition, the prime minister’s inauguration of the new Parliament building is a “grave insult” and a “direct assault” on democracy.
